How well are we doing?

Towards a self-assessment framework for community schools across the globe

Background information

Since January 2007 five Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), with extensive experience in developing and supporting community schools, have been funded by The Charles Mott Foundation to agree a common set of standards for such schools.

The partnership organisations, managed by Step by Step in Ukraine, are already working to support community schools in Russia, the Czech Republic, Moldova, the UK and Ukraine. The project is supported by Csaba Lorinczi, a consultant commissioned by the Foundation and who has extensive experience of working with schools across the region.

Further information about the standards will be available shortly on this website as will details about how you can have access to the standards. For details of associated training which ran in July 2008, please see our training page.

In the meantime, please contact any of the partner organisations for further information.
